Last weekend was the first weekend of spring. The sun was shining. The temperatures were rising. And a trip to the beach was far too tempting…

My younger son and I took off to one of our favorite beach hangouts south of Rome – the beautiful, medieval beach town of Sperlonga.

And …. it was fabulous.

A great day with my son, gorgeous, summer-like sun, a quieter beach – before attracting all the late spring and summer time crowds.

I always love beach reading, and cracking open the fabulous novel I was reading, How I became a North Korean, by Krys Lee, to be accompanied by the sound of the waves was the perfect way to usher in beach reading season 2019.

Looking forward to many more beach reading days like this throughout the spring and summer. A happy start to beach reading season to all!
