Visiting Sermoneta with my short story from Feisty Deeds II

I was happy to return to Sermoneta, which is the site of my short story for the latest Feisty Deeds anthology, Feisty Deeds II: Historical Tales of Batches and Brews.

My story, The Girl from Sermoneta, takes place in Sermoneta and Rome in the early sixteenth century. This is at the time of one of history’s most infamous popes, Pope Alexander VI – Rodrigo Borgia.

The Borgia – and especially the pope’s daughter, Lucrezia Borgia – sometimes resided in the castle.

My story has scenes in the famous walled gardens of Sermoneta, created in medieval and Renaissance times and still scattered around the town. I had to take Feisty Deeds II to visit the town – and its picturesque walled gardens.

Sermoneta is an easy trip from Rome, and is well worth a visit for its medieval atmosphere. It’s a true pleasure to walk arond this town and to feel you’ve travelled back in time.

It’s not too hard for a visitor to imagine she may have been transported back to the times of the Borgia pope … so better to exercise caution when drinking the Borgia wine!
