Checking in about halfway through my Goodreads Challenge 2026

Another year, another fabulous stack of books.

I’m a bit behind on my reading, but largely because I’m busy with my own writing and I’ve taken on some book award contest duties, but I’m sure I’ll hit my goal of 45 novels read by year’s end.

I’ve certainly gotten a good start and have read some enjoyable novels over this first half of 2026.

Many of these are NetGalley reads and all but two of the books I’ve read this year are new-to-me authors. There’s nothing better than discovering new favorite authors, so I am always eager to pick up novels by authors I’ve neer read before.

It’s been a nice mix of women’s fiction, historical fiction – and a bit of psychological thriller thrown in.
