Hitting the Little Free Libraries to drop off my novels
I’m a big fan of Little Free Libraries.
Whenever I return for holidays in the US, I always bring along a few copies of my paperbacks to drop them off.
This lovely trend didn’t exist when I was growing up … but I’m so glad it’s taken off! I would have been a major consumer, but now I happily stop by to see the offer – and to drop off a few of my books.
When I visit Washington, DC, I always encounter numerous Little Free Libraries, especially in the residential Capitol Hill neighborhood I visit.
I dropped off a few copies of my short story collection, Drink Wine and Be Beautiful, while I was staying here, and a couple of copies of my dual timeline novel, In The Shadow of The Apennines.
New York City has fewer Little Free Libraries, at least around Manhattan.
Luckily, there’s one I know in my Harlem neighborhood, and I made a drop-off there.
My condominium also has an excellent lending library, and was happy to drop off my latest books. And novels by other writers I read on my holidays but don’t plan on dragging home…
Hoping DC and NY readers will pick up my books and enjoy a little vicarious escape to Italy.
Viva Little Free Libraries…
