My story ‘Holiday Bliss’ is now online

I announced a while back that my short story, Holiday Bliss, was selected for the upcoming edition of the WriteFrance anthology. The publication will be released later this month, but prior to its launch, the WriteFrance site has made the pdf file of the publication temporarily available online.

If you’re interested in reading Holiday Bliss, you will find it here.

This is the story of Luciana and Danilo, an Italian couple in a troubled marriage. At the urging of their marriage counselor, the couple leave their home in Torino for a holiday in Provence. Returning to the place where they first met brings back complicated memories of imperfect choices made long ago.

Submitted stories were asked to include a French theme. Since being an Italophile has not precluded me from being a Francophile, too, I was more than happy to comply.

I’ve set this strained holiday in the lovely Luberon Valley of France’s idyllic Provence region. I was thrilled to include settings of Gordes, Goult, Roussillon and Aix-en-Provence as the backdrop for poor Luciana and Danilo’s ill-fated marriage. Writing about places almost makes me feel like I’m back.

I hope you’ll enjoy this story of regret and lessons learned, set in the sun-drenched hill towns of beautiful Provence.

And, authors who love France, if you’re interested in submitting your work for future WriteFrance competitions, bookmark this page and check back for future competitions.

It sounds like a very interesting story. I can’t wait to read it. I always enjoy your stories. How long is it going to be available online. I can also buy the whole anthology, of course!
