My little (growing) stack of writing

I began my publishing journey just a little over three years ago.

After many years of scribbling, and publishing short stories in journals and anthologies, I decided I wanted to start publishing as an indie author.

Just over three years later, with five novels, one short story collection and one historical fiction anthology under my belt, I can say I am truly happy I embarked on this journey.

As authors, we’re always rushing off to “the next thing”. For me right now, that is finalizing the first draft of my next novel, undertaking research for my next historical novel, and starting to think about my short story for the next anthology.

But it’s good to step back every once in a while to also celebrate what we’ve actually accomplished along the way. And therefore, I’m happy to contemplate my growing little pile of work.

Here’s a quick overview of my work, in chronological order:

Three Coins – October 2021

Contemporary women’s fiction, Contemporary romance

One Eternal City. Three women. Three wishes. Three coins.

Set primarily in Rome and seaside Sperlonga, Italy, this is a modern reinterpretation of the classic Hollywood film Three Coins in The Fountain. At their lowest points, three women – Emma, Tiffany and Annarita –  become unlikely friends, and the strength they gain allows them to take control of their messy lives and open their hearts to love.

Dark Blue Waves – May 2022

Contemporary women’s fiction, Historical women’s fiction, Historical romance, Time Travel, Jane Austen-themed, Dual timeline

When you wake up in Bath, England two hundred years in the past, how far can a love of Jane Austen get you?

When Janet, an American grad stdudent in Bath for a Jane Austen seminar, travels back to 1813, she treads a thin line between trying to blend into her new world and not being unmasked as the imposter she is. Can she find the way to return to her twenty-first century life before her secret is discovered? After working so hard to create a rewarding nineteenth-century life for herself, does she even want to?

In The Shadow of The Apennines – October 2022

Contemporary women’s fiction, Historical women’s fiction, Dual timeline

An American divorcée. An Italian shepherdess. Separated by a century, united by common dreams

Fleeing from her failed marriage, American Samantha moves to the sleepy little Abruzzo mountain town of Marsicano but quickly falls out with the inhabitants. Increasingly isolated in her mountain cottage, Samantha discovers the letters and diaries of Elena, a past tenant and a survivor of the 1915 Pescina earthquake. Despite the century that separates the two women, Samantha feels increasingly drawn into Elena’s life, and discovers startling parallels with her own.

Drink Wine and Be Beautiful – May 2023

Contemporary women’s fiction, Short stories

Italian Tales of love, betrayal, longing, desire – and hope

Italy serves as the backdrop for stories of Italian women and expatriate women living in Italy. The twenty-one stories in this collection follow women’s lives as they confront betrayal and love, alienation and community, despair and-ultimately-hope.

Rome’s Last Noble Palace – December 2023

Contemporary women’s fiction, Historical women’s fiction, Dual timeline

Two women. Two different centuries. One attic room

Isabelle has been shipped off from America to Rome to live with her aunt, Princess Brancaccio, and be married off to a European nobleman. But Rome in 1896 is on the cusp of a new century and Isabelle longs for more than a titled husband. Over a century later, Sophie can’t believe her good fortune interning in a Roman museum, complete with an attic apartment in the spectacular Palazzo Brancaccio. The idyll is shattered by a disturbing nighttime presence in the deserted hallways of the grand palace – one no one else can sense.

Feisty Deeds: Historical Fictions of Daring Women – June 2024

Historical women’s fiction, Short stories

Feisty women spanning six centuries

The twenty-three stories in this collection depict ordinary women—from the 1470s to the 1970s—who meet life’s challenges with fierce determination. Foreign invaders, rigid domestic authorities, strictures of society and religion, the supernatural, and love and family bonds all serve as catalysts for the feisty women in these tales.

Easter at The Three Coins Inn: Three Coins 2 – December 2024

Contemporary women’s fiction, Contemporary romance

Friendship. Love. Loss. New beginnings. Find it all at The Three Coins Inn.

It’s been four years since Emma, Annarita and Tiffany threw their coins in Rome’s Trevi Fountain and cemented a friendship that would change their lives, in more ways than one. Emma has departed Rome for the charming Umbrian village of Todi, where she’s busy managing the Three Coins Inn, while Annarita and her husband run the hotel’s cooking classes. A new set of hotel guests descend on the idyllic property, eager to recharge and leave their problems far behind. Will the charm and atmosphere of The Three Coins Inn work its magic on its guests?
