Enjoying a new angle – from NY’s The Vessel
When I was back in New York with my family this summer, we were curious to see a new monument that sprung up during our absence.

In the building frenzy that is the Hudson Yards neighborhood of downtown Manhattan, a new landmark has taken shape – just beside the Hudson Yards subway stop.
The Vessel.

Opened in March 2019, this innovative structure has 154 interconnecting staircases and eighty landings at various heights to the top.
It provides great views over the booming construction activities in Hudson Yards, the popular High-line, the Empire State Building and midtown skyscrapers and the Hudson River.

We had a great time scaling the hundreds of steps up and down the various staircases for spectacular views over the city.
The Vessel is open daily. Entrance is free – but you need to book online, since entrance numbers are limited.

On your next visit to New York, be sure to enjoy the views from the various staircases and platforms of The Vessel. It is well worth the effort.
Just bring your good walking shoes!

That looks amazing and I hadn’t heard of it. It’s on the list for our next trip. Thanks.
It’s quite new, Grace. So you are forgiven on not being 100% up on ALL the things to do in NY: : ) But you and your kids will love it. Maybe we meet up next time in the Big Apple?
