Our terrible, horrible, no good, very bad May
A nod to Alexander of the beloved children’s story, but even poor Alexander only had to suffer through one bad day.
We’ve had a whole month of awful days. Cold. Grey skies. Rain.
Lots and lots of rain.
In Rome, May is one of our most beautiful months, but not this year. Think London with the Coliseum. And better food.
Romans and those of us who call it home are even starting to sound like Londoners. All month long, the first topic of conversation has been the weather, and how disastrous it is.
I wish I could say my writing has been more productive during this miserable Roman spring, but that hasn’t been the case.
But I am sure that will all change with the beautiful, Italian sun that is sure to make a return visit to the Italian peninsula in June.
O sole mio! … we’re anxiously awaiting your return!
