Greetings from the Matera Women’s Fiction Festival 2015!

Matera Women's Fiction FestivalWhen this post goes out, I’ll be happily on my annual hajj to Matera, the beautiful cave town in southern Italy.

Each September, the town plays host to the Matera Women’s Fiction Festival, and I always enjoy my literary escape to this idyllic spot. Each year, I learn so much about the publishing industry, chat about writing with other authors, meet agents and publishers, and generally enjoy being in such a creative and welcoming environment.

This year there are lots of talks about the rapidly-changing publishing industry, talks by agents about the shifting role they play, and lots of advice about the dos and don’ts of indie publishing.

If you can’t make it to this beautiful corner of Basilicata (and if you’re a writer of women’s fiction, or  a female writer of any genre, you really should…), I’ll be sure to provide a wrap-up of the main highlights.

In the meantime, sending you sunny greetings from beautiful Matera!
