Time to sign up for the Matera Women’s Fiction Festival

Matera Women's Fiction FestivalAs some of you may know, for the past two years I’ve attended the Women’s Fiction Festival held each September in the beautiful town of Matera, in Italy’s southern region of Basilicata.

The festival is a great way to learn about the publishing industry today, how the environment is changing and what writers should do to keep on top of these changes and to benefit from them.

There’s also the chance to meet one-on-one with agents and editors for pitching sessions and with social media experts to help with your platform.

Matera, ItalyYou’re still on time to sign up for the early bird rate – through 30 June. This year’s festival, the tenth anniversary, will be held 26-29 September 2013.

I look forward to attending for the third year, and I must admit that I find the return to Matera as enjoyable as the festival itself. The great food and wine don’t hurt either. : )

For more information on the Matera Women’s Fiction Festival, see their website including registration information, my post on last year’s event, and a travel post I did about the spectacular, UNESCO-heritage site town of Matera.

Hope to see you in the caves this September!

Can’t wait for Matera this year! It’s one of my favourite festivals – the idyllic location, up-to-the-minute info, meeting great writers (!!), amazing work opportunities and excellent food. Also a break from the clan! Looking forward to catching up there – seeing I haven’t made it to Rome yet!

Hey, Catherine! So glad I’ll be seeing you in Matera this year! I have you pre-booked for drinks and catch-up, since you never managed to venture down from foggy Padania to see us. : ) We’ll lure you down to Rome this year…
