Relaxing in Ubud’s Lotus Cafe, Bali
The town of Ubud, in the center of Bali, Indonesia, is a relaxing place to visit.
My sons and I had fun exploring when we were here for a holiday and made Ubud our base for some days.
One place we stopped off at a few times in our wanderings around town was the pretty Lotus Cafe with its outdoor dining boasting views over the lotus pond and the Pura Taman Saraswati temple.
My sons, with their young, flexible knees, loved the outdoor deck seating on bamboo mats.
They loved having the Indonesian specialties – especially the Nasi goreng – and lots of seasonal fruits for dessert.
After long days of wandering, this little respite was appreciated by all three of us.
The Pura Saraswati temple has carvings of Dewi Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom and the arts, which was fitting for this artistic city.
You can wander up and admire the carvings more closely after your lunch, but I loved having the temple and lotus pond as my beautiful and relaxing backdrop on our visits.
