Brainstorming at the Spa 2014

Brainstorming at the spa 2014I’ve heard so many great things about the Brainstorming at the Spa event held each year in Matera, Italy. This year it takes place 4-7 April 2014.

This is an event organized by the Women’s Fiction Festival I write so much about, held each year in September in Matera, southern Italy.

For the past three years, I’ve managed to make it to the (wonderful) festival, but I think work will once again keep me from getting to the Brainstorming at the Spa long weekend.

Still, that doesn’t mean that other writers longing for an Italian get-away and a burst of creativity can’t take advantage of it.

The sessions are run by Christine Witthohn, a literary agent at BookCents Literary Agency and Marlene Stringer of Stringer Literary Agency. There are morning group sessions, working through your plotting difficulties and stumbling blocks, and the brainstorming continues in afternoon sessions in the hotel’s spa.

How much better can it get?

So writers, if you’re longing for a writing get-away, the chance to hang out with other writers of women’s fiction, and to work on all those stumbling blocks of your stories – and to do all this while you relax at the spa, visit the gorgeous town of Matera, and eat and drink sinfully well – be sure to sign up for Brainstorming at the Spa.

I’ll be envious as I think of you. Happy writing, and brainstorming!

Writing in a spa – sounds awesome. Spa writing retreats, writer residencies on trains…. it’s looking better and better to be in the writing biz.

Doesn’t it, Janet? One of these years I’ll manage to make it there. But I highly recommend the writer’s conference in September. See you there later this year? : )

I’d LOVE to make this one year but – alas – somebody has to ski till the end of the season… And then my Rome visit!

Haha. Tough job, Catherine, but someone has to do it. Down south, we’ve given up on the snow season. Hope the Rome promise is valid this year. : )

Wonderful idea which I hadn’t heard of, thanks. Time and finances will keep me from it but brainstorming with my local writers’ group definitely helps with plot-blocks so I can recommend the concept.

Thanks, Grace. I’m fairly new to brainstorming, but I think it’s incredibly helpful. I’m sorry not to be able to make it. Hope you’ll consider the Matera festival one September. It’s a really nice time.

Tantissimi auguri, Celeste!! What wonderful news! Boy or girl? I hope you’re recovering well. Yes, I imagine now isn’t the ideal time for getting away for a few days at the spa. : ) Enjoy these special days with your baby. As you know from your first, they grow far too fast… Auguroni!
