Brainstorming at the spa 2013

Brainstorming at the spa 2013I’m typing this with my tears in my eyes because I’d been hoping to go myself, but March is shaping up to be more hectic than I thought and I won’t be able to get away this year.

But for you lucky writers in Europe – or those of you who just need a thinly veiled excuse to come to Europe, this may be the occasion for you.

The Women’s Fiction Festival that I attend each year also holds an English-language session of Brainstorming at the Spa each year in March in beautiful Matera, in the southern Italian region of Basilicata.

I’ve written about Matera in an earlier post. It’s a fabulous place to visit, one of those must-see, off-the-beaten-Italian-tourist-track towns. This four-day weekend provides you with the opportunity to visit Matera, write, brainstorm with fellow writers, spend time in the spa, and eat and drink like a true Italian. Are you packing your bags yet?

The sessions will be led by literary agent Christine Witthohn, whom I had the pleasure of meeting at last September’s writing conference. For more details, look at the web site here.

So, writers, pack your laptop and your bathing suit and brainstorm away. Have an extra glass of wine for me. I’ll be joining you next year!

This is killing me too! I would love to go but March is difficult for me too. Such a shame as I’d really appreciate some brainstorming help at the moment. I don’t know which new project to choose! See you soon xcat

I know! I could use it now, too. Probably shows how shallow I am, but the spa doesn’t sound bad right now either! : ) 2014??

    Sounds simply divine!

Couldn’t agree more, Claire! Hope I’ll see you in Matera one day, either at the next brainstorming session or at the writer’s conference in September. It’s not too far from Provence!

It’s on my bucket list for sure!! I couldn’t think of a more agreeable location 🙂 and a winter spa brainstorm, well that’s just intelligent thinking on someone’s part, knowing exactly what women need to survive winter’s close!

    Wish I could be there!

Hi Janet! Come in September for the Women’s Fiction Festival! It would be great to ‘meet’ you in person and it’s a lot of fun.
