I received the Liebster Blog Award

I’ve won the Liebster Award, gifted to me by Melinda Dozier , talented romance writer and amazing critique partner. Thanks, Melinda!

The Liebster Blog Award is given to upcoming bloggers who have less than 200 followers and Liebster is a German word which means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing and welcome.

The rules:

1. Answer 10 questions the tagger has given you and pass them on to the people you’ve tagged.

2. Choose blogs with 200 or less followers and link them in your post.

3. Tell them you’ve tagged them.

4. Remember, no tag backs.

10 questions:

1. If you could slap one character out of a book who would it be? (sorry for the violence.. but I mean… there are some of those characters that just aaahhh aggravate you!)  My kids like the story of ‘Oliver Twist’, so I’ve been rereading with them recently. I guess Fagin or Bill Sikes might be pretty good candidates…

2. How long have you been blogging?
I started this past February

3. If you could giveaway an entire series, what series would it be and why? My favorites – Jane Austen and Edith Wharton. I love all of their works.

4. What author would you like to spend a whole day with and why? Jane Austen – I love her biting social commentary and it would be amusing to have insight into her witty commentary on modern social customs.

5. Make an estimate of how many books you’ve read throughout your entire life. Way too many to count. Ever since I learned to read, I’ve had my nose in a  book.

6. What was the book that got you into reading?  I remember how much I loved the Nancy Drew series when I was a girl and the ‘Little House on the Prairie’ series. Those must have been my earliest chapter books, and the ones I’d try to keep reading with a  flashlight even after bedtime.

7. Where is the best place for you to read? Everywhere, but I especially love to read out at the mountains and on the beach (where I will never, ever take an e-reader). Every good book should have sand between its pages to know it was truly enjoyed. : )

8. Who is your favorite character and why? I love so many characters, that it’s so hard to choose. I’ve already written about Women behaving badly in literature, and I tend to be drawn to villainess-protagonists like Becky Sharp form ‘Vanity Fair’ and Undine Spragg in ‘The Custom of the Country’. They’re just such wonderfully manipulative characters.

9. What book could you reread over and over again without ever getting bored with it? I’m going to have to copy Melinda here: ‘Pride and Prejudice’. Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth are such great characters and it’s the classic ‘comfort read’.

10. What do you like most about blogging? Being able to express my thoughts and connecting with other writers and travelers.

I’m giving this award to these fabulous bloggers:

Ledrakenoir

Julia Hones

I read encyclopedias for fun
